Los Mets Opening Day! Sports, Sports, Beer, Sports...

IMG_0433
Damn Gord, Don't look so excited to be there. It was pretty fuckin early, in his defense. A little beer goes a long way on opening day...
IMG_0435
that's Darryl Strawberry's little peanut head (I swear), and some old-timer.
IMG_0461
Yeah America. GO METS

...Because it was actually a great game. Mets beat the Marlins 7 - 1. D. Wright a hit an 2-run bomb (opposite field, dad) and the fun (and beer) just kept Flowing...GO METS.

It's Johan Santana's Town now (sorry Juelz. Are you dead?).

Mmm Momofuku : Better Late than Never...

Clearly I was late to the Momofuku noodle dance, but I really don't mind, the noodles are delicious and tender as ever (and I'm not one to wait on lines for food, or bread for that matter). As a child raised on Ramen (by choice, not a budgetary concern), Momofuku is a little taste of childhood, but all grown and sexy (yes noodles can be sexy if done to this level of perfection).

Lunch seems to be the move, as you can just walk-in (long Dinner-time lines are stat quo). A feast of delectable pork buns and noodles for days awaited us, and they did NOT disappoint. David Chang's career can likely go nowhere but onward and up, now expanding his noodle dynasty to bigger and better locales across New York and likely elsewhere. Chang even has the "keys to the bakery," (word is, his cookies are the best in New York, though I won't short sell Kathleen King just yet, and shall leave that debate to another time and place. For now, step your noodle game up, Nissin Ramen is for broke college kids, Momofuku is for the distinguishing noodle connoisseur, I'm goin' in....

Thursday

Spring in New York City, Get Your Roll On...

IMG_0074

Once the City thaws-out from a brutal winter season (maybe the worst in memory, if you count all the rain), it's time to ride-out. Instead of riding dirty in my vintage diesel-fueled Mercedes, I'm out riding bikes, making memories and exploring this vast city. While the rest of the country is drowning in empty buildings and foul leases, NYC seemed to be steeping-up its game. Case in Point: Wards Island used to be no-man's land, a dust-bowl armpit off the coast of east Manhattan. Now, It's all cleaned up, with a circumfrential bike-path and fields of actual green grass - still the site of a rather gnarly coo-coo facility, but a cool respite from "dreary old Manhattan," nonetheless...

Monday

Doing Big Things in Twenty-Ten (or Dying to Try)...

Bigger than the Burj Dubai? Maybe in spirit, or consequence, but never in scale. I'm trying to pop-off like these two gnarly knuckleheads, and hijack me some glory. Peep the video of a two 'Wild Euros' base-jumping off the newly appointed (and barely afforded) Burj Dubai - I mean, Burj Khalifa (a hat-tip to Uncle Emirate for the hand-out). As for the building, it seems a testament to 'Balling Outrageous' - although an obvious overcompensation in many regards. Here's to doing it big no matter what the consequence...

Thursday

The REAL STORY of The TIGER WOODS AFFAIR

Tiger may have the purest swing in the game of Golf, but his Sweedish wife is definitely handy with a 7-Iron. Gotta love the Chinese for this on-the-spot animation of the affair, maybe TMZ will follow suit and start doing hypothetical
re-enactments.

Taking it Back to "Looseyville" with Machine and the Fat Jew

So I've have been keeping a low profile, trying to build up my Chi and center my gravity, (or is it vice versa?). Had to take a hot second to shout out my brethren of the Facelift gang on this homage to the Upper West Side in the roaring nineties, when the city still had some cajones (r.i.p. Dinkins era insanity). Check out this track off Machine's (Team Facelift) "The Jones Beach Mixtape" - available now
